Cinema Jove International Film Festival

DESCRIPTION

Celebrating its 20th year, the Cinema Jove International Film Festival held in Valencia from June, 18-25 2005, will be once again an important reference point for young film-makers; an event in which directors from all around the world will have a high profile.

Cinema Jove is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers (FIAPF), and is a member of the European Coordinator of Film Festivals.

Our Festival started in 1986 with the aim of supporting young people who had something to say on film, or those who were taking their first steps in the audio-visual industry. Today we are still driven by the need to show new and innovative works that are produced in this industry. On occasions these are rejected because they do not suit market trends.

This year Cinema Jove's deadline for submitting feature films and shorts for competition will be on April 15th. Films must have been produced after January, 1st 2004, either in 35 mm or 16 mm (films recorded on a professional video support and transferred to cinema format -16 mm or 35 mm- are also accepted). Directors competing in the Festival must not be over 35 years old.

The Festival also organizes the 12th International Short Film Market, which will be held from June, 22th to 25th 2005. This provides short film-makers with the chance to get in touch with distributors, exhibitors and selectors from other festivals and TV channels around the world. In this way, we create a meeting place and a forum for commercial and business exchanges.
