The Nizhny Novgorod branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Art with the financial support of the Ford Foundation holds the 3nd International open contest of art projects for the Arsenal Museum in the Kremlin of Nizhny Novgorod.
Motto of the contest: Routes of Artists.
This is navigation of artists in space and time.

Objectives of the Contest.
To establish the internal space of the Arsenal Museum and the territory of its court.
/Kunstplatz/ as the exhibition venue for contemporary art projects.
Create the open presentation area for the latest tendencies in contemporary culture.
To promote the integration of the contemporary art into the existing cultural space.

The Expert Council of the contest is formed by:
Elena Kolovskay - director of the PRO ARTE Institute (St Petersburg)
Vladimir Levashov - curator, art-director of the Stella Art Gallery (Moscow)
Sandra Frimmel - art critic (Berlin)
Konstantin Larin - architect, head of the architectural bureau "Progress-88" (Moscow)
Sergey Hachaturov - art critic, columnist of the newspaper "Vremya novostey", radio "Culture" (Moscow)

Evaluation criteria:
- active correspondence with the spatial image of the Arsenal Museum;
- feasibility in terms of budget and technical implementation.

The projects, which will be considered in the framework of the competition, should be designed for the implementation in the space of Arsenal Museum and its surrounding territory /Kunstplatz/, newly created and never demonstrated before.

Contest application conditions.
Application for the contest is made in free form with obligatory indication of: full name, date of birth, place of residence, e-mail, contact phone, CV, description of the project, detailed budget and TechRider.

The Expert Council will issue the decision on 31 March 2006.

Project Conditions
Maximum financing of a project can't exceed 70000 (seventy thousands) rubles;
All project costs and travel expenses are covered directly by the organizers of the contest, so the authors will not be drawn any funds in this connection.
All technical support for projects is to be provided by the organizers. The winners of the contest will arrive to Nizhny Novgorod before the assembling of the exhibition and take part in the preparatory works and the varnishing day.

The organizers plan to publish a catalog of the exhibition.

The organizers of the contest reserve the right to use the projects submitted by the participants for informative, educational and other non-profit purposes.
