Manifesta 6 School

Progresívní platforma - Evropské bienále současného umění Manifesta 6 se bude konat v Nikosii na Kypru ve dnech 23. září až 17. prosince 2006. Škola je ústředním projektem Manifesty a na nabídne 3 tematické transdisciplinární programy zahrnující přednášky, publikace, projekce, performance, výstavy, rozhlasové a TV programy, workshopy a další aktivity. Kulturní producenti napříč spektrem žánrů včetně vizuálních umělců, architektů, spitovatelů, filmařů, novinářů, kurátorů, skladatelů, performerů a pod. mohou zaslat přihlášky k účasti, která předpokládá znalost angličtiny a pobyt v Nikosii po dobu jednoho semestru. Termín 1. března 2006.
Účast pro vybrané účastníky je bez poplatku, na podporu pobytových nákladů je třeba žádat o podporu s tím, že prostředky jsou limitované.
The Manifesta 6 School is the central project of Manifesta 6, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, which will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus from 23 September to 17 December 2006. The School is both the site and the content of the Biennial, and is its sole activity. Conceived and developed by the curators of Manifesta 6, Mai Abu ElDahab, Anton Vidokle and Florian Waldvogel, the School will offer three thematic transdisciplinary departments comprising lecture series, publications, screenings, performances, exhibitions, radio and TV programmes, workshops and other activities.
The Manifesta 6 School is now accepting applications from cultural producers across the whole spectrum, including visual artists, architects, writers, filmmakers, journalists, curators, composers, performers and others, who are interested in participating full-time in the School programme. Invited participants will be expected to reside in Nicosia for the duration of the semester. English is the language of communication in all the departments.
An application form is attached as a PDF document. It may be filled out and returned by POST or FAX to the address below. The deadline for the application is 1 March 2006, and the invited participants will be notified by 30 March 2006.
