USArtists International Program Seeks Performing Arts Applicants

Deadline: June 15, 2005 and January 20, 2006

A program of the National Endowment for the Arts with support from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation and managed by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, USArtists International is committed to ensuring that the impressive range of expression and creativity of the U.S. performing arts is represented at international festivals abroad.

In its inaugural year, USArtists International will target support for U.S. dance and music ensembles and will focus on countries that comprise the European Union. Grants are available to U.S. dance and music ensembles that have been invited to participate in international festivals in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

Eligible applicants must be a dance or music ensemble, including practitioners of folk and traditional forms, that works at a professional level; consist of members who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States; and be designated by the IRS as a 501(c)3 organization, or have a fiscal agent that is designated as a 501(c)3 organization.

Grants will seldom cover the applicant's total expenses and generally range from $1,000 to $10,000. Travel and per diem, international communications, shipping, and artists' and agents' fees related to participation in the international festival are among eligible costs supported through USArtists International.
