Rezidenční pobyty na Tajvanu

Rezidenční pobyty v délce 4-12 týdnů pro umělce všech disciplim, včetně kurátorů umění, kritiků a administrátorů nabízí tajvanské centrum. Vybraní uchazeči mohou získat i finanční podporu na krytí nákladů spojených s pobytem. Termín zaslání přihlášek je 22. září 2006.

Taipei Artist Village residencies 2007 (deadline: 22 Sep)

Residencies are offered in all arts disciplines at the Taipei Artist Village, Taiwan. Deadline for applications is 22 Sept, 2006. Artists, curators, critics and administrators may apply for either self-funded or full subsidy residencies from 4-12 weeks.

2007 International Artist-in-Residence Program - Taipei
The Taipei Artist Village (TAV) & Grass Mountain chateau created the International Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program as a base in Taipei from which to facilitate creative intercultural encounters and collaborations between artists from across Taiwan and around the world. Here, artists from all different disciplines and who are at all levels of professional development come together as a community in residencies that are four to twelve weeks long. Artists are selected based on the quality of their work, capacity in working across disciplines, and interest in interacting with the general public in Taipei City.

Admission Process:
1. Exchange Program: Based on recommendations made by co-sponsoring institutions from around the world.
2. Open Application: Each applicant's portfolio, as well as supporting materials, will be screened by the TAV Admission Committee.

Eligibility:
• Applicant's nationality is not Republic of China; or, has R.O.C nationality, but has been living abroad for more than five years.
• Is below the age of 55.
• The knowledge of English is required.

Residency Options:
There are two options for which artists may apply.

Option 1: Self-Financed Residencies
The fee for residents is US$600 for a residency of 4 weeks. These residencies are partially subsidized by TAV.

Accepted Resident Artists may remit payments through bank transfers, which must be completed 15 days before arrival or pay NT cash upon arrival.

Please note that fees will be refunded only with receipt of written notice a minimum 45 days prior to start of residency.

Option 2: Full Subsidy Residency
Each year, TAV will select international artists and sponsor them by providing free accommodation and studio.

HOW TO APPLY

Application Check-list
1. Application Form – must be typed and fully completed
2. Curriculum Vitae (in English) – the following information is requisite: educational qualifications, artistic experience, and education/work experience abroad
3. Portfolios. Samples should be representative of work, preferably produced within the past two years.
4. One recommendation letter.

All application materials, send one”hard” paper copy on A4 AND a digital version on CD or DVD.

Portfolio Preparation

1. Literature (poets, playwrights, fiction writers, nonfiction writers)
Submit one copy of no more than: 10 pages of poems; and/or 20 pages of prose/text, plays or scripts.
For the convenience of the Review Committee, please submit 2 excerpts that have been translated in English.

2. Visual Arts (painters, sculptors, photographers, installation, conceptual, digital media, film and video artists)
Submit up to the maximum 8 pieces of works on CD-ROM (mpg film file or at least 200dpi jpg images) and /or 15 minutes of VHS /DVD/VCD.

3. Performing Arts (Choreographers, Dancers, Theater Artists, Musicians, Composers and Sound Artists)
Submit a compilation of your recent work (up to 15 minutes in length) on VHS/DVD/VCD and other material that adequately depicts your work.

4. Curators / Critics / Administrators
Submit articles, writing, or catalogues / brochures that reflect your research, critical analysis, and /or curatorial and administrative vision and inquiry.

1. Applications will only be accepted by post.
2. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
3. Do not provide original work as samples. Application materials will not be returned; but may be picked up in person, only by appointment, before the end of March 2007.
