Academy of Media Arts Cologne
In theoretical and practical seminars, the Academy of Media Arts Cologne teaches its students the artistic and creative use of media. In the interdisciplinary study programme, with focus on „Audiovisual Media“, young, as well as more experienced artists co-operate with the academic staff and artists-in-residence from the following departments: Television/Film, Media Art, Media Design and Art and Media Studies.

We are looking for an outstanding personality with a distinct artistic position in the international art scene. A comprehensive, distinct theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the contemporary art and media discourse is expected.
The main focus of the artistic work should be on a strong, innovative, interdisciplinary approach to (new) media and how it functions spatially, in particular the focus on digital “imaging techniques applied to space” and on experiments with audio and sound installations within various settings.
Programming skills, knowledge of sensor technology and compositing are desirable.
Generally, we expect a distinct readiness to work in projects on an interdisciplinary basis as well as to take part in the development of artistic-experimental research projects and in the further development of the structure of the study programme and the self-organization of the Academy of Media Arts.
The Academy of Media Arts endeavours to raise its female quota in education and research. Therefore, applications from women with equal qualifications, skills and expert knowledge are favoured unless there are applicant-related, outweighing reasons. Applications of disabled persons with equal qualifications are also given preference.
To keep up with the constantly changing aspects of arts and new media, the duration of the appointment will initially be limited to up to 5 years.
