Documentaries Work For NGOs and NPOs
European Social Documentary 2004
European Documentary Workshop
I - South Tyrol - May 2-8
PL - Warsaw July - 4-10

Supported by Media Training Programme of the European Union
Deadline for application: 1. April 2004
Non-governmental and non-profit organizations play an increasingly important role in a world where the rift between the rich and the poor grows larger. Today NGOs and NPOs can’t work effectively without employing up-to-date media techniques. Information and fundraising campaigns are based on the diffusion of videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, Internet presence, etc. NGOs require different multimedia formats: from educational videos to fundraising spots to training videos.
As NGO reliance on the media is becoming increasingly important, more documentary, audiovisual production and multimedia experts in this area are needed.
The sector demands specialized personnel with the necessary skills, knowledge of media market rules, social competence, cultural tolerance and flexibility, with a humanitarian commitment - which is crucial in this highly sensitive intercultural sector.
ESoDoc is geared toward the needs of documentary sector professionals, independent producers, authors and journalists, media personnel, and communications and image professionals who collaborate with institutions and/or NGOs that work with developing countries. We're looking for professional people committed to social, health and environmental issues.
