1. Berlínský festival fotografie 2005

Řídící výbor Berlínského festivalu fotografie si dovoluje oznámit, že shromáždil podporu pro konání prvního ročníku festivalu, jehož zahájení je plánováno na 25. září 2005 v Martin-Gropius-Bau. Vedle významných výstav současné fotografie z celého světa je připravováno diskusní fórum o závažných mezinárodně diskutovaných tématech. Mimoto v rámci periferního programu chce festival posílit existující networky, berlínské galerie a instituce a představit na nich výstavy, festivalového tématu: Způsob jakým žijeme: Fakta, vzruchy, fabulace.

The Way We Live: Facts, Fevers, Fabulations
The Steering Group of the Berlin Photography Festival is proud to announce that support has been secured for the staging of the Festival˙s first edition.
Scheduled to start on September 25th, 2005, at the Martin-Gropius-Bau, it will present a major exhibition with contemporary photography from around the world, alongside discussion forums on relevant topics in the international debate. A special ´Meeting Placeˇ will offer a platform for debate and presentation, addressing professional and amateur photographers, the specialist audience as well as the public at large. Furthermore, the Festival˙s peripheral programme aims to contribute to consolidating existing networks, and Berlin galleries and institutions will be encouraged to present exhibitions in connection with the Festival's theme.
As the Head curator of the 1st edition, the Group appointed Jan-Erik Lundström, Director of the Bildmuseet in Umea (Sweden).
The Berlin Photography Festival Steering Group consists of:
Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (NGBK), Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (NBK), and transmediale, in cooperation with the Goethe-Forum and the European Photography magazine.
The Berlin Photography Festival is kindly supported by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds, the Goethe Institut InterNationes, the bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (bpb), and further public and private funders.
