ART PRAGUE 2005

The ART PRAGUE international contemporary art fair was established in 2002 with the aim of supporting contemporary art presentation and trade with galleries, publishers and art dealers.

With its history and architecture, Prague is one of the most beautiful and special European cities, with the existence of an open market there has given rise to a series of prestigious galleries with interest in collecting contemporary art.

The ART PRAGUE fair is held at the functionalist Manes building, built in 1930 by the Manes Association. Its location in the centre of the city and exhibition space of 1500 square metres mean that the Manes building remains one of Prague´s most important exhibition venues to this day.

2005 marks the coming of the 4th annual event of ART PRAGUE. It presents prestigious galleries from the Czech Republic as well as from abroad [Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Slovakia] and is fully supported by media interest with a high attendance, which undoubtedly benefits the contemporary art market. Thirty-six participating galleries offer various original pieces – paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and art glass in three independent exhibition halls in the center of Prague.
